
Afure Onekpe
VICE-PRESIDENT
Afure has over 15 years Environmental, Energy and Engineering experience. She is the Founder of the Association of Energy Engineers Alberta Chapter (AEE) and current Vice President. She also serves on the board of the Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance (AEEA) influencing positive changes in Alberta through collaboration, training and coordinated action plan. Afure has also served as the CAPP representative for the NPRI Multi-stakeholder committee and has been involved in AEE, PTAC, COSIA, CAPP, APEGA, ECAA, ESAA, DEC and AEEA. She has greatly influenced Energy Efficiency in Alberta through her involvement and promotion of Energy Efficiency programs, training and certifications. Her goal is to continue to promote Energy Efficiency as a resource to Albertans.
Afure has a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), a Certified Environmental Professional (EP) with a specialization in Energy, Sustainability, GHG/Air and Water, a Certified RETScreen Expert (CRE), a Certified Enterprise Program Manager (EPM) and a Canadian Sustainable Energy Practitioner (CSEP).
